Rinus Spruit (1946) was a nurse, a part-time journalist, photographer who wrote short stories which received several literary prizes on many occasions. The Thatcher has been published in Germany by Deutscher Taschenbücher Verlag, and it was adapted into a hugely successful theatre play. In the Fall of 2013, his second novel Maarten's Perfect World was published – which received great reviews and sold to Germany.
