Aleid Truijens

Aleid Truijens (1955) is a journalist for the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant. In 2004 she wrote the autobiographical novel No Night Without which came out in Germany as Normal war gestern. A Friend's Errand (2007) was her second novel, for which she was also the voice actor of the audiobook. In 2011 she wrote a highly praised biography on writer F.B. Hotz, and in 2012 she published a non-fiction book on the education of children and parents called Education!.

Previous jobs include art editor for the magazine Elsevier, teaching at the School for Journalism and Leiden University and writing as a literary critic for NRC.
