Bregje Hofstede (1988) studied history of art and French in Utrecht, Paris, and Berlin. She taught history of art at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, and works as an editor. Her writing has been published in De Gids, Das Magazin, DW B and De Standaard as well as in De Correspondent.
Her first novel The Sky above Paris (2014) was nominated for the Libris Literatuur Prijs, the Gouden Boekenuil, the Opzij Literatuurprijs, the ANV Debutantenprijs, the Bronzen Uil and the Anton Wachterprijs. It was translated to Danish and German. Furthermore, we signed a contract for the movie rights with producer André van Duren, director Sara Verweij and director of photography Luc Brefeld. In 2016 she published The Rediscovery of the Body at Cossee which will be followed by her novel The Reputation of Emma in 2017.
